Chapter Forty-Eight: But What If?

Many times, you know a certain song, but you may not necessarily know the album name. For example, the two albums "Hero of the Ages" and "Poetry of Later Youth," Chu Zhi didn't know either of them and needed to check the prize pool for descriptions of the prizes.

"Hero of the Ages" is an album released by Leehom Wang in 2005. The musical style is a combination of pop and Chinese hip-hop, and it's said to be the first Chinese hip-hop style album, incorporating elements of Peking Opera and Kunqu Opera. Fans praise it as the second-best album after "Heart's Sun and Moon" and an incredible third-tier divine album. If it weren't for Jay Chou's divine album "Fantasy," "Hero of the Ages" would have dominated the charts for the entire year of 2006.

"There's a lot of unnecessary information, but I really quite like the songs 'Flower Field Mistake' and 'Big City Little Love' from the album." The title track "Hero of the Ages" didn't quite suit Chu Zhi's taste.

Chu Zhi glanced at the lyrics of "Kiss Goodbye," a song he didn't recognize at all. It seemed like he had heard it before, especially the climax: "Every time we part, I am deeply defeated by you. Every time I give up your tenderness, the pain is hard to bear..."

Surprisingly, the album "Poetry of Later Youth" turned out to be a Mayday album, with songs like "Suddenly Missing You" and "You Are Not Truly Happy" coming from this album. The main musical style is rock, which was probably why Chu Zhi didn't listen to much music in his previous life. His gaze tended to linger on the more well-known songs, but songs like "Night Visit to the Vampire," "Laugh Forgetting Song," and "The Place in My Heart That Hasn't Collapsed Yet" were also good, although he didn't pay much attention to them.

"Regardless of which album I draw from these two blind boxes, I'll have new songs for my first album."

Even though Chu Zhi had already revealed his true form and wasn't a lucky draw, there was still a chance he could be a loser. However, before drawing a blind box, basic respect for the ritual was essential. He rushed to the bathroom to wash his hands.

"Don't Forget to Stay Calm" is the theme song of the movie "Listening Wind and Clouds," sung by Zhang Jie. If it's considered a golden song, it's almost there, but it's more accurate to say it's an excellent song.

If "Don't Forget to Stay Calm" falls just short of being a golden song, then "Forgive Myself Without a Place" is definitely a golden song. The song was written by Dou Xian and arranged by Li Tong, a perfect collaboration that created a classic. But without the right attitude, you can't sing hard rock. Chu Zhi was quite confident in his singing skills, but this box wasn't suitable for him.

"I've drawn twice without seeing the special grand prize. Before, not seeing it made me anxious, but now, not seeing it makes me worried," Chu Zhi muttered to himself.

There's no need to say much about "Ethereal Sound," it's similar to "Despairing Sound," but what about "Ethereal Sound" for Chu Zhi's previous life?

Chu Zhi pondered for a moment. Zhou Shen's voice could be described as ethereal. But who could be the counterpart for "Ethereal Sound"? For a moment, he couldn't think of anyone.

As for the "3cm Height Increasing Pill," where can it increase height?

Carefully reading the instructions, it seems that it can be applied anywhere, whether it's height or... cough, a serious person. Chu Zhi shifted his gaze away from the oddities and began drawing—swoosh, swoosh, swoosh.

As it turns out, washing hands before drawing really works. He opened the selected blind box and found a "Poetry of Later Youth" gift pack.

The system was surprisingly generous, giving him two albums in a row.

"Great, great! With the five main singles 'Wind Blows Over the Wheat Fields,' 'My Nostalgia,' 'Facing the Light,' 'You Are Not Truly Happy,' and 'Suddenly Missing You,' won't this album be super amazing?" With the wind stopping and the rain ceasing, Chu Zhi felt like he was on a roll again.

Maybe he had already evolved from being a loser to a lucky guy!

He got up and went to the study again, and sure enough, there was a pile of creative materials on the bookshelf and desk. Changes to the music scores and lyric sheets, participating in live variety shows would perfectly establish his reputation as a creative talent. This completeness, no one could shake.

What's even more impressive is that there are other versions, like Xu Jiaying's cover of "Suddenly Missing You."

Upon closer inspection, the study had the most books on history. Once, there was a variety show where the original host answered a history trivia question wrong, so he bought a bunch of books, starting with the Twenty-Four Histories, as well as Essentials of National History, Records of Chinese History, and other books.

Unlike many people who "buy books like mountains and read books like drawing silk," the original host made sure to actually read them and take notes.

"There's a precedent. It's very likely that I'll draw foreign language songs next, so learning a foreign language is urgent. Plus, 'Songs of a Bird' needs to be translated into English, so even if I have creative memories, I still need to maintain a certain level of English literary literacy."

That being said, Chu Zhi also decided to first understand the history of his homeland so he wouldn't be accused of being overly fond of foreign cultures. He could be seen as cautious or paranoid, depending on how you looked at it.

In the following days, Chu Zhi quietly accumulated strength, while also receiving many calls from talent agencies, including Dahuai and his former company, Kang Fei. He declined them all.

The original owner's courage was commendable, daring to take risks, but the biggest problem was being too trusting of people and afraid of trouble. Even if choosing to collaborate, the minimum requirement was to become a partner with a stake in the company or to establish his own studio for affiliation.

Don't ever say that talent agencies and artists have mutual benefits, that the more famous an artist becomes, the more money the company makes. The diversity of the human species means you never know what a talent agency might do. When Chu Zhi was on Earth, his company was sued by Four Leaves Media for infringement of portrait rights. When he received the court summons, he was bewildered. After careful consideration, he remembered that during a certain promotion, an employee's WeChat profile picture was of Ju...

He also checked and found that Four Leaves had done similar things many times, such as with a certain beauty blogger. While discussing beauty tips, they used a photo of Ju and mostly praised her beauty. They were also sued for infringement of portrait rights, and without exception, Four Leaves lost because the court ruled that public figures should have a certain tolerance.

"It's impossible not to rely on capital. Currently, the wings are not fully formed." Chu Zhi currently had a somewhat speculative flavor. The company he admired the most was Sun Chuanhe Media Company, which ranked just below the three big players in the entertainment industry: Dahua, Orange Sky, and Cerui.

In terms of resources, it was not as good as T1, but ByteDance was behind it. Sun Chuanhe's Series B financing was solely invested by ByteDance. The publicity platform was not a problem, and Chu Zhi knew even better that Dahua, Orange Sky, and Cerui all had top stars from the [Wu Tail, Chu Wei, Yi Xing Yun Fei], either sharing stocks or affiliating with studios.

Dividing the cake among people was like killing one's parents. Chu Zhi estimated that another wave of struggle would ensue if he went there again, which he didn't want to experience. Spending most of his limited time on internal competition was meaningless.

"I'll establish my own company and sign artists when my wings are strong enough." Chu Zhi hated two kinds of people: evil capitalists and those who prevented him from becoming a capitalist.

For long-term interests, Chu Zhi was able to temporarily abandon short-term pleasures. Even though his Weibo followers had surged to over 20 million within a week, Chu Zhi still hadn't opened the comment section, leading to incredibly popular topics like [Chu Zhi's Super Topic], [Chu Zhi's Peripheral Products Coming Soon], [South Orange North Zhi and Little Fruit], and [Chu Zhi's Power], all under his control.

Gaiqing Company, Li Tingyu, and the Bolemen celebrity host received court summons, with the trial scheduled for two weeks later. Those who received the summons were anxious, and even those who didn't had guilty consciences, like the person at Kang Fei Company.

"I think we still have a good relationship with him." "Maybe we can re-sign him." "I think that's possible. We cooperated quite happily before." "Xiaofeng, your relationship with the artist has always been good. Let's leave this matter to you to handle."...

The meeting room was noisy, with General Manager Zhang frowning at the shareholders and executives, especially those with personal connections. Finally, unable to bear it any longer, he raised his voice, "A good relationship? Why has our company's top artist turned out like this? Do you really think I don't know what you've done?"

"Do you really think Chu Zhi and our Kang Fei Entertainment had a happy cooperation?" Zhang General Manager questioned.

Several people in the meeting room chuckled and didn't speak further. The remarks just now were mostly out of jealousy, even though Chu Zhi currently didn't have any endorsements or released albums to test his "combat effectiveness," his fans still had half the purchasing power of their peak period, making him stand out in the entertainment industry!

Miss Feng applauded silently in her heart, blindly giving orders, thinking others were brainless, and willing to re-sign with them. What a joke.

Speaking of which, she and Chu Zhi did have some rapport. Thinking of this, Miss Feng couldn't help but smile. She felt that the best decision she had made in the latter half of the year was to help with I Am a Singer and to remind him with phone calls.

"But what if... Miss Feng, why don't you give it a try?" After venting his anger at the executives in the conference room, Manager Zhang turned to Miss Feng and said.

"...", Miss Feng was speechless. A group of people were just blowing hot air.
