### Chapter 139: The Tear-Jerker of the Year
**SR!**
Hou Muyun's eyes lit up.
Previously, he had drawn one SR card and one SR card pack. Although their functionality left something to be desired, the SR cards themselves were undeniably powerful. He could only hope this time he would draw something truly useful.
The card appeared.
**[English Mastery Card X1]**
**[English Mastery Card (SR): Mastery of English. (Special Skill Card, requires points to equip. Once equipped, you permanently gain this skill. Unique card, cannot be duplicated.)**
"Another special card!"
Hou Muyun read the description with excitement. Special cards were clearly very useful, and this one was an SR-level special card. The key was that it was a unique card!
This meant it was the only one in the entire system; it would never be drawn again. As for its usefulness, the name said it all—using it would grant mastery of English. To what extent? Seeing the word "unique," it was likely maxed out, otherwise, there would be duplicates for stacking.
If not for this, Hou Muyun thought this SR special card might not even be as good as the R-level special card "Speed Reading."
He still had over 100,000 points left. Time to equip it! Knowing an additional language would open up more opportunities—like accessing original foreign materials for research. More importantly, it would be a great way to show off... But equipping the card required 200,000 points!
Oh well, he’d have to save it for later!
Stretching his body, Hou Muyun noticed his phone vibrating. Hua Shao had sent some related materials, noting that if Hou Muyun was short on time, someone would contact him in advance to go over the script and other details.
He skimmed through the materials and found that the reality show was as he had guessed: "Our Seventeen Years," a star time-travel variety show. Hua Shao was one of the six regular guests, and it was rumored that he also held a position within the production team.
This reality show was relatively "low-key" in today’s variety market. Its promotions were "low-key," the launch was "low-key," and even though one of the main MCs was King Guo, and the rest of the cast was decent, many viewers only discovered it by the second or third episode. However, it had garnered a good reputation and was considered a sincere production, with steadily rising ratings.
Hou Muyun had researched the show earlier and watched a few episodes in his spare time. To his and many viewers' surprise, King Guo had a great sense of humor, which was a major highlight. Hou Muyun was also impressed by a character named "Hua Zai."
After reviewing all the materials, Hou Muyun replied to Hua Shao, saying he would return to Ruicheng the next day. If needed, he could join the team early and discuss details in person.
He also sent a message to Ami, informing her that the song production would have to wait until his music studio was fully set up.
Although he could simply give the lyrics and melody to Ami to handle or have it done at Shi Shiwu’s studio, Hou Muyun, being somewhat of a prankster, couldn’t resist making Ami wait. Whether it was the studio's opening or its first major project, he would need a diva like her to add some flair.
Ami was quite pleased to receive Hou Muyun’s message. The song was as good as hers now. While Ami occasionally watched Hou Muyun’s live streams, she wasn’t specifically tuning in for the new book release today since she had only read 'Sword Master Side Story.' She learned about the song from her assistant, who was a big fan of Hou Muyun’s novels and manga and watched the entire new book release event.
Ami happened to catch a glimpse of the stream and got interested when she heard Hou Muyun was going to perform a new song. After listening to "Sword Heart," she was impressed. By the time she heard "Blossoms on the Road, Return Slowly," she was moved to tears—not only because she had read the side story but also because the song was incredibly touching.
So, right after the live stream ended, she called Hou Muyun. She didn’t even consider whether the song would be popular; it was just an instinctive choice as a singer recognizing a great song.
Of course, the song was destined to be a hit, and it indeed went viral that very day.
When Ami received Hou Muyun's WeChat message, her assistant informed her that the two songs Hou Muyun performed had already gone viral on Weibo. Especially the second song, which had been edited and widely shared, with many people calling it the first tear-jerker of the year. Ami agreed with this sentiment wholeheartedly.
Ami listened to the songs a few more times, acknowledging that while Hou Muyun sang them very well, the second song indeed suited a female singer better. She had already envisioned various ways to interpret the song and was eager for Hou Muyun's studio to be ready so she could record it.
"I should have made him record it for me today!" Ami felt a bit anxious, almost wanting to fly to Shanghai immediately.
---
For the rest of the time, Hou Muyun was mostly in the studio, testing and getting familiar with the equipment. Ahui's suppliers were very efficient, and most of the equipment arrived by the afternoon. Installation and testing didn't take long, although some imported equipment would arrive a day or two later.
That evening, Hou Muyun finally received news about potential studio members from Liu Zhuo. Liu Zhuo, who had extensive connections in the music industry, found not just one but three candidates, all with experience in scoring for films and TV shows.
Liu Zhuo informed Hou Muyun about their capabilities and conditions. Hou Muyun scheduled meetings to discuss further. Conveniently, two of them were in Shanghai, and he met with them that evening. Hou Muyun could assess their skills, while Ahui understood the market, leading to quick preliminary contracts.
The next day, he met the third candidate in Beijing and also signed a contract.
These three individuals had impressive skills and experience. Hou Muyun wasn't concerned about their fame. It was clear Liu Zhuo genuinely recommended talented people rather than random candidates to fill the positions.
On the 12th, the studio's establishment approvals came through, officially marking the formation of Music Monkey Studio. However, the opening ceremony would be scheduled later.
The studio's founder left Shanghai the same afternoon, leaving the three new members somewhat bewildered. There were many tasks to handle during the initial setup, and the boss was already off. Still, they couldn't complain, given the favorable terms they received.
Before leaving, Hou Muyun called Chu Qing to ensure there were no urgent matters, then left with peace of mind. He returned to Ruicheng around 4:30 PM, had dinner, packed at home, and then drove to Wen County.
Once again, Fei Ning insisted on being the driver. He knew where Hou Muyun was headed—a celebrity reality show! He couldn't miss this chance to witness it, especially since it featured one of his childhood idols. Normally, it would be impossible to meet them!
Wen County, like Ruicheng, was under Wenshi's jurisdiction, less than an hour's drive apart. The reality show was being filmed at the birthplace of Liu Ji in Wen County.
Upon entering the production team, Hou Muyun found Hua Shao already there. The other MCs would arrive either the next day or late that night, with filming starting at 8 AM the next day. Hua Shao and the crew began briefing Hou Muyun on the process.
