FWTS Chapter 136 New book uploaded

The names on the list of potential actors were not all familiar to Hou Muyun, but most of them he either knew or had some impression of. Each one was highly acclaimed, with strong acting skills!

Wasn't there news online before that Qingtian Film and Television had already begun contacting two film emperors and one film empress for guest roles? But now, on this list, it wasn't just two!

Hou Muyun couldn't recall all the awards these actors had won, but in his eyes, each one was at the level of a film emperor or empress!

If they were really cast, this drama would explode!

Who needs those trendy newcomers hogging the spotlight? With a lineup like this, the announcement alone would cause a sensation!

But could they really be persuaded to join?

How much money would it take?

Actually, it wasn't just about money!

Well, at least it wasn't a problem that could be solved with ordinary money!

Chu Qing, seeing Hou Muyun's expression, remained calm: "We agreed initially that the main actors wouldn't exceed 35% of the production budget. These actors aren't considered main, but their fees won't be low. We might need additional investment! Are you in for it, or not? If not, your stake will decrease."

Hou Muyun didn't hesitate: "If you're really choosing from this list, I'm in no matter how much additional investment is needed!"

Many of the actors on the list were ones Hou Muyun admired or respected. Some of them were even actors he had once imagined as perfect for certain roles!

Chu Qing said, "We'll contact these people, and once we've finalized things, we'll let you know how much additional investment is required."

Hou Muyun nodded: "No problem!"

He could tell that Chu Qing wasn't joking with this list, but was serious. This dispelled Hou Muyun's last doubts and even got him a bit excited.

Further discussions were held, but Hou Muyun hardly had any say in the following meeting. He just listened in. However, through this meeting, he gained a deeper understanding of the complexities of filming a TV series, much more than he had imagined.

He also understood that the pre-production phase required a lot of resources and was crucial, even more so than filming and post-production.

Next, the crew needed to finalize the cast and select shooting locations.

Hou Muyun didn't need to be involved, but he would definitely have to attend meetings frequently.

The meeting ended.

Chu Qing said, "Today, some of the actors have started auditioning. Do you want to go and see?"

Hou Muyun waved his hand: "No need, you guys decide on the actors, I don't understand that."

Although he was curious, he didn't go, expressing his attitude.

"Alright."

Chu Qing thought for a moment: "Then come to my place later."

Hou Muyun was surprised.

Chu Qing smiled: "Remember 'Not Chu Qing'? You owe me a custom-made meal. No time like the present, let's do it today. Li and the others are curious if you really can cook. Since we'll be working together a lot in the future, consider this a gathering, increasing our communication."

Hou Muyun said, "Ah, that's what it's about. No problem."

Chu Qing asked, "What did you think it was?"

Hou Muyun laughed: "I thought you were going to invite me to study the script late at night!"

Chu Qing smiled and turned away. Most of her time was spent abroad, and her personality was very cheerful, so she wasn't really phased by Hou Muyun's banter. She said with a smile, "Studying the script after dinner sounds good too. But do you prefer lights on or off?"

Hou Muyun wasn't intimidated: "I can get a night light, the kind that works well under the covers."

"Really? Then go buy one. I'll tidy up my office and head to my place later."

Chu Qing smiled faintly and turned away, but as she did, her high heels somehow landed on Hou Muyun's foot, twisting her waist as she walked away, leaving Hou Muyun gritting his teeth in pain.

Wasn't she supposed to know the Eight Trigrams Palm? Why did she have such terrible footwork!

A woman who knows kung fu is terrifying indeed!

...

Around ten o'clock in the evening, after a hearty meal, the crew bid farewell to Chu Qing's place one by one, and naturally, Hou Muyun left with them.

Chu Qing saw them off, and as they were leaving, she deliberately lowered her voice and raised her eyebrows at Hou Muyun, asking, "Not studying the script anymore?"

Hou Muyun replied menacingly, "Tomorrow! Maybe!"

Chu Qing laughed until her eyebrows curved.

After realizing her reaction, she muttered, "Damn it," under her breath.

Taking a cab back to the studio – Fat Ning had driven back earlier – at this hour, Ah Hui, Xiaopang, and others were still busy in the studio. Some equipment had already been delivered and was being installed, and there were plenty of other tasks, like sound checks and adjustments.

Additionally, they had prepared a simple but comfortable office for Hou Muyun in the studio, which he immediately took a liking to.

Hou Muyun helped out for a while outside before returning to the office. After tinkering around for a bit, he headed back to the hotel where he was staying.

Since he would likely spend a lot of time in Shanghai in the future, Hou Muyun had already asked Ah Hui to help find a house. Of course, it would be a rental; he couldn't afford to buy in Shanghai for now, even though he had over ten million in his account. The production team would likely require additional investment, so he needed to keep a substantial amount in his account and wouldn't consider buying property for the time being.

Back at the hotel, Hou Muyun began preparing for the upload of his new book.

He finished drafting the new book before midnight and uploaded a teaser of twelve thousand words. At midnight, the launch on Chuangchuang Chinese website was right on schedule.

At the end of the chapters, he announced that the main text would be uploaded at noon and that there would be a live "new book release conference" at noon. He also posted announcements on Weibo and in the live broadcast room.

Hou Muyun had also notified everyone once before.

As for the website, they had already put up an announcement for Hou Muyun's new book and organized some activities to accompany the release.

"It's out!"

"Monkey's new book is finally out!"

"Damn, titled 'Nine Heavens'!"

"Well, it might be a bit cliché, but it sounds imposing. At least better than the main title of Xuan Yuan Sword!"

"Still a fantasy novel! Monkey's fantasy novels are addictive. Count me in!"

"A teaser of over ten thousand words! What's with this earth-shattering battle right from the start?"

"Finished reading! It's terrifying how vividly Monkey portrays scenes. Just from the words, I can picture everything. So imposing!"

"Who's the main character? Why can't I tell?"

"Well, the teaser probably won't feature the main character! Looks like the main character is definitely the reincarnation or rebirth of these people in the teaser... or something else entirely! Anyway, the world-building is definitely extensive!"

"I have a feeling this book will be a hit!"

"Obviously, Monkey's books always hit big!"

"Hey, look at the fan rankings!"

"Damn! A hundred leagues in a minute?"

"Even more! The fan ranking page has a delay. Check out the activity leaderboard on the homepage!"
