FWTS Chapter 122: Clear Sky Films

Back at his home in Ruicheng, Hou Muyun spent an entire evening organizing the plot for the "first season." Putting other things aside, the storyline alone was over thirty thousand words long and extremely detailed. After all this preparation, Hou Muyun still didn't immediately start writing.

The next morning, after writing five chapters and finishing one manga episode, Hou Muyun spent the entire day drawing all the main scenes that might be involved in the "first season."

Only then did he start writing the script.

For the next few days, Hou Muyun stayed in Ruicheng, not going anywhere.

He wrote and drew in the mornings, wrote the script in the afternoons, and worked out and streamed live in the evenings before returning to the script.

During this time, Hou Muyun drew cards several times.

He pulled some cards he already had, but also drew a new card type, a "driving skill attribute card," pulling five of them in a row. With this, Hou Muyun's driving skill attribute increased from 2 to 7—a definite improvement from novice.

However, he didn't draw any cards related to film and television.

Instead, he gained some additional attribute points and replenished a few skill and effect cards.

On December 25th, Hou Muyun went back to Ruicheng for dinner and then returned to Ruicheng. It was his birthday, and he spent it simply with his family.

Of course, he also received many gifts from "the sky."

Additionally, he received a wedding invitation. Tai Ran and his girlfriend of over seven years were getting married next month!

Time flew by, and on December 28th, Hou Muyun finally completed the script for the "first season."

Twelve episodes, nearly 500 scenes!

Additionally, there were over 200 scene drawings!

Some were drawn before he started writing, and some during the writing process.

In less than five days, he wrote a 12-episode, nearly 500-scene script. Such speed is naturally not something an ordinary person could achieve, especially with other tasks every morning.

After organizing everything, Hou Muyun flew to the capital to attend the concert of the duo Zhang Zhang, held at the Workers' Stadium on the night of the 29th. Hou Muyun appeared as a guest and performed three songs. One was a duet with the duo, and the other two were adaptations of one of their classic songs.

The response was excellent, and Hou Muyun was very excited since the audience at the Workers' Stadium was more than twice the size of his last concert!

After his performance, Hou Muyun unexpectedly met someone in the backstage of the concert—Chu Qing!

She was one of the two women from the previous fight video and also the sister of the famous Chinese entrepreneur, Chu Tian.

She approached Hou Muyun and said, "I heard you're looking for a team to turn your novel into a film?"

Hou Muyun was a bit surprised.

Chu Qing was accompanied by another woman that Hou Muyun recognized, Zhang Fan's wife from the Zhang Zhang duo, the well-known actress Bai Xue. Hou Muyun had met her before in the capital during rehearsals and had eaten together.

Bai Xue said with a smile, "Ms. Chu is the CEO of Clear Sky Films and Media. She originally came to talk to me about a collaboration and I brought her to the concert tonight. Seeing you on stage, she decided to talk to you. Shall I ask my assistant to arrange a place for you two to talk?"

Chu Qing smiled and said, "Thank you."

Seeing this, Hou Muyun had no objections.

Ten minutes later, they were at a quiet café near the Workers' Stadium.

Chu Qing was very direct, "I know you turned down Legendary Century and signed a betting agreement with Qiyue. I also know why you refused. My purpose here is simple: to see if there's an opportunity for us to cooperate."

Her tone reminded Hou Muyun of Principal Wang, making him wonder if all wealthy people spoke this way.

After a brief pause, he said, "Since you know why I refused, you should know my requirements. If you can meet them, we can discuss further."

Chu Qing smiled, "Final approval rights, right? I can give you that. I've read your novel and the manga, and I'm very satisfied with the original plot. I don't want it turned into a mess either. But you should know that the way novels and mangas express themselves is different from films. I can give you final approval rights, but how can you guarantee that your perspective is correct? How can you prove that filming it your way will yield good results? If you can prove it, there's no problem. As long as the reputation is good, I don't mind losing money."

On the way here, Hou Muyun had briefly researched Clear Sky Films and gained some understanding.

Clear Sky Films had been around for a few years but wasn't very well-known until recently. It had purchased some copyrights but hadn't produced many films, thus lacking a significant reputation.

However, in the last two months, Clear Sky Films had gained a lot of attention because the CEO position was taken over by Chu Qing, revealing the company's connection to the Chu Feng Group.

There were rumors that Chu Feng Group was testing the waters in the film and cultural industry.

Others said that Chu Tian just wanted to give his sister something to do.

Hence, when Chu Qing said she didn't mind losing money as long as the reputation was good, Hou Muyun felt it might not just be polite talk. Rich people can be capricious, after all!

After some thought, Hou Muyun said seriously, "I've already written the script for the first season of 'Xuanyuan Sword Master.' Regardless of its quality, if you agree to shoot according to my script with no more than ten percent changes, we can move on to the next step of our discussions!"

Chu Qing frowned slightly, "You know the script and the novel are different forms of expression. Are you sure you've written a script and not a novel?"

She stopped Hou Muyun from speaking, "Let's say I misspoke. How about this: send me your script first. I'll have professionals review it. If it meets filming standards, then shooting according to your script isn't a problem. However, the extent of changes should still be negotiable. After all, meeting filming standards and having an excellent script are two different things. I believe you also want the final product to be better, right? Of course, you can fully participate in the modifications. But if it doesn't meet filming standards, I hope we can sit down and discuss it again."

Hou Muyun said, "Let's talk after you've seen the script."

Chu Qing only smiled at Hou Muyun's confidence and then said, "By the way, what about 'Legend of the Sword Master'? Are you interested in adapting it into a film? If so, we can also work together on that."

Hou Muyun asked, "Is this your main purpose for coming here?"

Chu Qing didn't deny it and nodded, "Indeed, in every aspect, 'Legend of the Sword Master' is more suitable for a film adaptation, especially as a movie. If you're willing to let our company handle it, we'll provide the top production team! You can even participate in the movie's profits!"
