AFVSIBS Chapter 203: The Young Diva of the Music Scene Is Afraid He Won’t Come, Yet Afraid He'll Misbehave
After finishing dinner, Zhou Chen and Wan Fangfang brought some food back to the hotel and then went straight to Yang Hanhua’s room.
"Ding-dong."
When the doorbell rang, Yang Hanhua’s heart started pounding.
This is the feeling of a girl experiencing her first love: afraid he won’t come, yet afraid he’ll misbehave.
Those who have been through it understand.
Those who understand, understand.
She quickly checked her hair in the mirror once more. Seeing it wasn’t messy, she immediately walked over and opened the door.
Seeing that it was indeed the man she was longing for, she instantly showed a delighted smile and gently said, "Zhou Chen, you’re finally back? Please come in."
"Mm."
Zhou Chen nodded and followed her into the room.
There was no denying that this young diva of the music scene had a naturally fragrant aura. As soon as he stepped into the room, it was filled with her scent.
And this scent, Zhou Chen could clearly tell, wasn’t from perfume or shower gel. It emanated from Yang Hanhua herself.
He had deeply experienced this at the swimming pool before, so he was familiar with this scent.
"Zhou Chen, thank you for bringing me dinner tonight," Yang Hanhua said with a blissful expression.
"No need to be so polite, eat while it’s hot. I’m sure you’re hungry."
"Alright, I’ll eat first. You sit down."
With that, Yang Hanhua opened the food Zhou Chen had brought: fish, shrimp, and braised pork.
She usually didn’t like eating these much, but this time was different. Zhou Chen had brought it for her, so she found it especially delicious.
She didn’t know what had gotten into her, why she had become such a devoted admirer.
But she didn’t resist this feeling. Although she was a young diva, she was also a normal woman who needed love and craved to be loved.
Zhou Chen was the first man to make her feel this inexplicable excitement, though she couldn’t quite explain why.
She was willing to give it a try, even if Zhou Chen might not like her in the end.
"Zhou Chen, isn’t your 'International Music Festival' starting on the first? Why did you come so early this time?" Yang Hanhua suddenly remembered and curiously asked.
"The company wanted us to come early to get familiar with the environment here. I thought since there wasn’t much to do in Wanhe, I might as well come here and stay a few more days," Zhou Chen replied.
"True, you’ve been in Happiness City for a while, you must be tired of it. It’s good to come to a new city and breathe some fresh air."
"What about you? Do you have any events to attend in Asu City?"
"Just a commercial event. I just need to make an appearance. I’ll probably stay for two or three days. But if you want me to stay longer, I can," Yang Hanhua offered.
"Mm."
Zhou Chen’s simple response left Yang Hanhua guessing.
She wondered if Zhou Chen wanted her to stay longer or not.
"You should arrange according to your own schedule. After the event, I might not have much free time. And I have to stay here for six episodes."
About a minute later, Zhou Chen spoke again.
"It’s alright. After the commercial event, I’ll have a few days off. I can stay here to find some inspiration and write new songs. Plus, I can ask you, the music genius, for advice."
Yang Hanhua made up her mind to stay a few more days in Asu City.
Zhou Chen nodded again and said "mm."
This time, his "mm" didn’t leave Yang Hanhua guessing, which made her very happy.
Zhou Chen was not an oblivious guy; he just wasn't sure if his feelings for Yang Hanhua were still in the realm of friendship or had already crossed into love. So, he didn’t want to invest too much.
Moreover, he valued a healthy lifestyle and wasn’t inclined to invest too much energy in other matters.
If love came, he wouldn’t reject it; he would cherish and nurture it. But becoming a sycophant, like in his past life where he got heartbroken over love, was out of the question.
This might seem contradictory, but it wasn't.
He had an internal scale that could measure all these things well.
"Zhou Chen, there's still some time now. How about after I finish eating, we go swimming? I brought my swimsuit," Yang Hanhua suggested after checking the time.
"Better not. You’ve been on the road all day, you must be tired. Rest well first, we can go tomorrow night if there’s time."
"Is that concern I hear?" Yang Hanhua asked directly.
After asking, she realized she had been too forward and her face blushed.
"Sort of. That was my experience last night. After a whole day on the road, I just took a quick shower, went for a walk, and then rested," Zhou Chen replied, giving a reason.
For Yang Hanhua, that was enough.
She gently said, "Alright, I’ll listen to you."
"Take your time eating. I’ll go back and shower."
"Ah! You’re leaving so soon?"
"I’ve been out all day and sweated a lot. I need to shower and change into clean clothes," Zhou Chen explained.
"Oh, okay, you go ahead. We can arrange for a walk later if you have time."
"Mm."
Zhou Chen gave a simple "mm" again, then got up and left Yang Hanhua’s room.
Only Zhou Chen could treat Yang Hanhua so coldly. Any other man would probably be eager to stay with her as long as possible, acting like a sycophant.
But this was exactly what Yang Hanhua appreciated and liked about Zhou Chen. He was so special, so different, like a firefly in the night.
People are sometimes like this: too ordinary people and things often don't interest them. Instead, they become obsessed with unique and different things.
Back in his room, just as Zhou Chen was about to shower, he received a call from Cheng Qiang.
Cheng asked if he wanted to join other celebrities for a gathering, as some stars had arrived tonight.
Normally, celebrities wouldn’t refuse such events. If they did, they might be gossiped about, accused of being arrogant or acting high and mighty after becoming famous.
But Zhou Chen refused without a second thought. To hell with social obligations and caring about others’ opinions.
Now, he just wanted to live his life well, to live for his own feelings. Even if it was a bit selfish, he wanted to live freely and with peace of mind.
